REALSENSE's support for web based accessibility

The internet can be a great source of information and freedom for people with full or partial impairments, providing them with resources to better contribute in society. Some examples of our accessible solutions include enabling:

people with visual impairments to adjust sizes and styles of text presentation so that information can be read by themselves without additional aid

visually impaired people to access information within web based solutions to ‘listen’ to information through the use of industry standard screen readers

people with hearing and visual impairments to access and learn and develop via accessible eLearning resources

You can alter visual settings and find out how to navigate using the keyboard in our accessibility options section now.

The usefulness of REALSENSE solutions and the wider world-wide web to its disabled and aging users depends on accessibility. The internet presents an opportunity of universal access - a place where everyone can become truly equal. Although this is a bold aspiration, we need to think carefully about what accessibility means and aim to continuously review and improve the presentation of information.

For the visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing people as well as those with motor or cognitive disabilities, we aim to ensure their needs are addressed through the provision of our services. We aim to create services that are accessible to our audience across all ages and abilities, making it easy for all people to reach our content, and once there, to determine for themselves the value they derive from us.

My Computer, My Way

My computer My way logoMy Computer, My Way is a website which aims to help arm our audience with the tools and understanding that will enable them to make the most of the world-wide web (not just real-sense.com), whatever their ability or disability.

The ‘My Computer, My Way’ site provides advice and help to all those people who would benefit from making changes to their browser, operating system, or computer to be able to view real-sense.com and the rest of the web in a more accessible way.

The site is not only for those with disabilities (visual, hearing, motor, cognitive or learning impairments) but also, for example, for those people with minor vision impairments who would not consider themselves to have a disability.
