Creative Learning Media
"technology alone doesn't solve problems... but
the right application of technology does."
Stimulating media such as voiceover, sound, video, animation and interactive presentations help bring learning resources to life, improving learners' retention of skills, knowledge and information. Whether its a small cartoon animation (to help fulfill a early learning objective) or a multi-lingual interactive touch-screen multimedia kiosk suite - no challenge is ever too large or small.
If you are overwhelmed with all the technologies out there, don't worry. REALENSE will review your learning objectives with you and help you select and apply the appropriate media to enhance your e-learning.

Mobile Learning (M-Learning)
Producing mobile learning (M-Learning) on small devices can be challenging, particularly with limitations on screen size and user input. A different approach is necessary - simple bite-size chunks of stimulating media presented in clear well laid out screens. Material varies from simple audio clips to interactive game based learning activities. (More at Wikipedia)
Some of REALSENSE's learning content is now deliverable as M-Learning via devices such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) and Smartphones.

Media Streaming
REALSENSE provide a simple media streaming service. Whether you have existing media or not, we can capture and / or edit the audio and video for you. We apply the appropriate level of compression to enable media to be deployed, managed and streamed effectively for online learners.
Example: branded as the DerbyLearn Media Player integrated and operating on DerbyLearn (Derby's Adult and Community Learning Platform).

Podcasts
A Podcast is a digital recording of a broadcast (usually a small audio or video clip), made available on the web for downloading to a personal media player.
The introduction of Podcasts has enabled authors, professionals, academics etc. to write and submit media clips for other online visitors or learners to download or subscribe to. These materials can often be produced and made available as complementary resources to support a learning process.
If an author or source publishes regular online broadcasts, others can use podcast software or an RSS feed reader to automatically susbcribe to and receive future broadcasts.
Example: Experience the quality and delivery of our podcasts at work on the HCP Study Events website. The site, supported by a grant from the Nestlé Nutrition Institute, provides affordable study events, resources and educational support for healthcare professionals. The podcasts available are just one example of the many resources on offer and are available by free subscription.

Simulation / Virtual Reality (VR)
REALSENSE uses in-house virtual reality / real-time 3D technology to simulate realistic scenarios. This enables trainees to work (together where appropriate) within online learning environments, constructed specifically to train, develop and test their skills and abilities.
Examples may involve immersing the learner in a virtual scenario such as:
a fire in the workplace; covering best response and evacuation
a busy warehouse; covering health and safety issues, some life critical
an HGV workshop; diagnosing faults that are often too expensive to train
a hazardous environment; training in a safe 'virtual' location that would in 'reality' be considered too remote or dangerous.

IntelliTV
RS IntelliTV is an interactive visual aid for education, marketing and entertainment - deliverable online or via CD. The user interacts with the IntelliTV application / scenario (often 'videotile' video presenters or a visual representation of a character) via a keyboard, typing words, phrases, sentences, instructions and commands. The application uses its pre-programmed knowledge and rules to intelligently relay a meaningful response through audio and / or visual feedback.
Example: Virtual Hippy is available in our IntelliTV products section. As part of a 'safe driving campaign' initiative, Derby City Council used seventies characters on billboards and in poster campaigns to promote peaceful driving across the city. REALSENSE produced a fun interactive virtual hippy to help increase exposure and raise awareness - attracting youngsters and engaging families with the important undelying message.
