Do your employees have to lift, lower, carry, push or pull loads? If so, then Manual Handling Operations Regulations apply, you must undertake a risk assessment and employees will typically need awareness training. Have you undertaken a manual handling assessment involving the workforce? Do your employees know about the risks, how to identify and deal with obvious hazards? Have they been trained in safe manual handling operations?
If you answered 'no' to any of the above and you are not training those at risk then your organisation could be subject to enforcement action that could include an improvement notice, prosecution or an increased risk of a civil claim. The provision of health and safety training is not a matter of choice or optional, it is an absolute legal requirement for your organisation. Manual handling accidents account for over 38% of all lost time accidents at work and absence from work due to back pain is second only to the common cold. Manual handling operations are also a contributory factor to the large increase in slips, trips and falls in the workplace.
Aims of the course
'MANUAL HANDLING AWARENESS' aims to help your organisation meet the intent of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations by helping establish a culture where all those involved can input to resolving the issues having received a level of hazard awareness and workplace precaution training from the engaging online training solution.
Who is it for?
The certificated course is aimed at all employees who may undertake manual handling operations and has been developed by qualified and experienced health and safety professionals and e-learning developers with many years experience in the delivery of learning solutions. The result is a high quality training solution that gives the trainee the necessary tools to meet their health, safety and environment obligations and the organisation a level of compliance through an engaging and effective learning medium.
How is it delivered?
'MANUAL HANDLING AWARENESS' can be delivered online, over a network, standalone or via CD-Rom to each learner at their desktop, laptop or other device.
The course conforms to SCORM E-Learning industry standards which means it can be delivered via SCORM compatible learning management systems. Alternatively, if your organisation is looking for a simple and easy to use management system for administrating, distributing and managing e-learning course(s) then we can also deliver the course via REALSENSE's own management system called ActiVbase.
The learning can be completed at the learner's own pace and at a time convenient to them. A simple 'book marking' method is used to record progress providing the learner with an easy way of resuming the course at a later stage. This method of training delivery means typical costs of training can be reduced significantly whilst still achieving the desired awareness and compliance objectives associated with the organisation's legal responsibilities.
Compliance record keeping
An invaluable feature of our E-Learning is record keeping. This provides a compliance audit trail by recording the progress and completion of courses and making them available for you to view and manage electronically.
