Fire Safety

Fire Safety

The risk of fire is a threat to ALL organisations whatever their size. Fire Regulations require that all employers train their employees in Fire Safety Awareness.

This Fire Safety Awareness E-Learning course aims to change the way we all think about fire safety and to promote a culture in your business that means everyone is focussed on fire prevention and the correct action to take in the event of a fire.

Manual Handling Awareness

Manual Handling

Do your employees have to lift, lower, carry, push or pull loads? If so, then the Manual Handling Operations Regulations will apply and you must undertake a risk assessment and as a result your employees will typically need awareness training.

Manual handling accidents account for over 38% of all lost time accidents at work and absence from work due to back pain is second only to the common cold. Manual handling operations are also a contributory factor to the large increase in slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

The Manual Handling course aims to meet the intent of the Operations Regulations through the provsion of effective hazard awareness and workplace precaution training.

Managing Safety

Managing Safety

"Prime responsibility for accident and ill health prevention rests with management". (Health and Safety Executive - Successful Health and Safety Management HSG65)

The health and safety performance and legal compliance of an organisation is usually demonstrated by the level of commitment of ts management team. In fact, managers are often criticised for failing to take their policy duties and legal responsibilities seriously. But what is often forgotten is that managers simply do not have the underpinning knowledge and understanding of what is required to manage safety in their area of responsibility. This is why education and training are crucial to any organisation’s health and safety management system.

This Managing Safety course aims to provide managers the essential information they need to manage health and safety in their area of responsibility and control.

Environmental Awareness

Environmental Awareness

"Climate change doesn't discriminate. Whether you're a business, government, or an individual, it is a threat to us all and therefore challenge for us all. I believe that collectively we can meet this challenge." (Environment Minister)

With global warming, pollution and greenhouse gases being discussed on a daily basis, environmental impact is now firmly on the agenda for many organisations as both a corporate responsibility and sustainability issue. "We're in this Together" is an important approach to many organisations that have achieved or are striving to achieve the Environmental Management System Standard, ISO14001.

The Environmental Awareness E-Learning course covers the main issues that face organisations in their attempts to better manage their environment risks by helping managers and employees to understand the part they can play in meeting their organisations obligations and lessen impacts on the environment.

Noise Awareness

Noise Awareness

Are your employees free from exposure to noise at work? i.e. from machinery, work processes and loud music? Are they all aware of the risks of noise exposures? Do they know how to reduce the risk and the findings from your risk assessment? Do they know how to properly fit and take care of personal hearing protection that you have issued?

If you answered 'no' to any of the above then your organisation may be in breach of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations and could be prosecuted or fined or served a notice or be exposed to significant legal claims. The provision of training is not a matter of choice or optional, it is an absolute legal requirement for your organisation.

The Noise Awareness E-Learning course aims to help your organisation be legally compliant with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations. It will give your managers and employees an improved awareness of the risks associated with noise, how the risks can be managed which will enable them to contend with the risk in the workplace.

Working at Height

Working at Height

Working at height is defined as a height where a person could fall a distance liable to cause personal injury. So does your organisation have employees that use stepladders, ladders, scaffolds, mobile elevating work platforms and work on or have to access to structures or rooftops? If so, then the Work at Height Regulations apply to you.

Do your employees know about the risks they run in working at height and the systems of work that are required to keep them safe? Do they know how to identify obvious defects in workplaces they might visit while working at height?

The provision of training is not a matter of choice or optional, it is an absolute legal requirement for your company. Falls from height account for one death every week. In addition, there are seven major injuries resulting in broken bones or being unable to carry out normal working duties every day due to a fall from height. Remarkably, two thirds of people with major injuries have fallen from a height of less than two metres.

The Working at Height E-Learning course aims to help your organisation be legally compliant with the Work at Height Regulations.

Electrical Safety

Electrical Safety

Does your organisation have people that use or work with electrical systems or equipment? If so, you will be required to undertake a risk assessment and train your employees. Do they know about the risks they run in working with electrical equipment and systems? Do they know how to identify obvious defects in electrical equipment? Do they know about the strict legal standards relating to working on or near live conductors?
If you answered ‘no’ to any of the above, then your organisation could be subject to an improvement notice, prosecution or an increased risk of a civil claim against the organisation.

The provision of training is not a matter of choice or optional, it is an absolute legal requirement. Every year, around 1,000 accidents at work involving electricity are reported to the HSE and about 30 people die of their injuries. Therefore approximately three people every day accidentally come into contact with electricity and every month two people die.

Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos Awareness

Did you know that there are around 3,500 asbestos-related cancer deaths every year? Or that more than 500,000 non-domestic premises and houses still contain some form of the material, posing a real threat to unwary maintenance workers? Industry is now more aware than ever that exposure to asbestos can cause cancer and an early death. So could you say that your employees will never encounter asbestos or asbestos-containing materials during their work? Are they all aware of where asbestos may be found? Do they know what to do if they find asbestos? Is your building completely free from asbestos?

The Asbestos Awareness E-Learning course aims to help your organisation be legally compliant with the latest UK Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations. It will give your managers and employees a substantial awareness of the risks associated with asbestos and what to do if they discover it at any time.
